Helping Hands for South Sudan is a nonprofit charity based in Palo Alto, California. Our mission is to make education possible for South Sudan's children. Due to the South Sudanese Civil War, many of them are orphans and must live as refugees in large camps where conditions are poor and the opportunity to go to school is almost nonexistent. We provide scholarships, room and board, school supplies, and uniforms so they may attend school. We believe this gives them the potential for a brighter future. Why are we so passionate about this cause? Because as the founders of this organization, we have walked in their shoes. Read our story.
First Lady Michelle Obama once said, "Education is the one thing people can't take away from you. And it is worth the investment." Our organization wants all children, including those from South Sudan, to have the knowledge and tools to dream of a better way of life and to make it happen. As of 2019, we've sent 80 children to school!
We improve the lives of refugee children by providing education scholarships and expenses. Many of them are orphans and simply don't have the means to pay for tuition, books, school supplies nor uniforms. With your gift of any amount we're able to help fund these educational needs including room and board at the Gulu Primary and Secondary Schools in Uganda.
Let your hands be Helping Hands for South Sudan. We welcome donations of any amount, but a gift of $500 sponsors an entire year of school for a child! To sponsor a specific child, please include that child's name with your payment.
Whether you help through monetary donations or spread our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
We are a 501(3)(c) charitable organization, so your gift is tax-deductible. You may use PayPal, a credit card or debit card using the link below. (As with any PayPal purchase, your transaction is secure.) Check donations may be made payable to Helping Hands for South Sudan and mailed to the attention of Gabriel Nyok, 2500 El Camino Real, # 206, Palo Alto, CA 94306.
